Hello everyone,

Speak Up! Speak Out! has just posted a broadcast on two pieces of legislation requested by Gov. Inslee being debated in Olympia now.

"This week's edition of Speak Up! Speak Out! on KSVR radio examines two pieces legislation requested by Gov. Inslee, being debated in Olympia now. One addresses oil train safety, and the other addresses carbon emissions in the state.

In the first half of the show, Rebecca Ponzio, Oil Campaign Director with Washington Environmental Council discusses the Oil Transportation Safety Bill, highlighting the most important provisions, and comparing it to Sen. Erickson's competing bill in the Senate. In the second half of the show, Ben Serrurier, Washington Policy Specialist with Climate Solutions talks about the Carbon Pollution Accountability Act, which would put a price on carbon pollution, and generate revenue for education, transportation, and create a working families' tax credit. Ben introduces us to the newly created Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy.

These interviews were recorded before the dramatic oil train explosions of this past weekend, which disasters illustrate the need for."
