I am once again asking for everybody to send emails again. The bill has been given a new number HB 1934. I know some of you do not live in Washington State, but if you believe in this bill please email the Senators listed at the end. You will also see in this email some information concerning the bill. As most of you know my grandaughter once lived with me and I now rarely get to see her. This is a situation I never saw coming. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for emailing.
Cindy
At the end of your email ask them to please respond to: Then put your contact information.
Make sure the first line in the body of your email says Please support HB 1934, An act relating to granting all persons who have an ongoing and substantial relationship with a child, including but not limited to grandparents, the right to seek visitation with that
child through the courts. We need to a to make sure they see the words grandparents in the title.
For those who say anyone can get visitation that is wrong as you can see below and by the attached bill report.
There are many “gates” to get through for those that want visitation. That is not an easy task, that is so that not everyone can get visitation.
The very first gate is that you will have to meet a judge first to see if you even have a case. If he or she doesn’t think you can prove your case it goes no further. It will not go to court. It costs no one any money.
Then there are the other qualifications that are needed. Must have two years of a significant relationship—if child is two or less than one half of his or her age.
Grandparents pay legal fees
It is untrue that just “anyone” gets to petition the court for visitation.
We are at a critical point in the passage of a Grandparenting (visitation) bill. It is HB1934. Please take a few minutes to; highlight, copy and paste all of the Senators emails into your To: box on your email above and send them a short statement about your support. If you can do nothing else, please copy the emails and then copy the following (see below) into the body of your letter, type your name at the bottom and send it out. OUR GRANDCHILDREN ARE COUNTING ON YOU. DON'T LET THEM DOWN. This should take you less than five minutes. If you have already sent letters thank you, thank you, thank you!

Dear Senators,
I am writing in support of HB1934, An act relating to granting all persons who have an ongoing and substantial relationship with a child, including but not limited to grandparents, the right to seek visitation with that child through the courts, which is before the Senate Human Services and Corrections Committee. I urge you to support this bill being passed out of committee and support its passage by the full Senate. The children of this state deserve your support.
Thank you.
Respectfully Yours,
