Hi Diane and the Skagit Food for Skagit People Collective,

I am looking forward to meeting you next Wednesday at WSU Extension's Burlington office at 2:30 pm. I really appreciate everyone pulling a meeting together to help review our food system planning efforts.

I am a member of the Washington State Food Systems Roundtable and we are a public/private unfunded collaboration that has been working on developing a 25 year vision and action plan for Washington’s Food System.  I have attached a draft prospectus that we want to share with you as well as about 15 other groups across the state that are working on food systems. I met with the Whidbey Food Systems Consortium last week and am excited to connect with the Skagit Food for Skagit People to get your comments and find out how we can improve our work and better connect with local and regional food system groups.  This is not for general distribution because it is our first effort and we really want to get feedback from groups such as yours before we go any further.  I am also hoping to find out more about your work and next steps. Are we in alignment with your efforts?  What issues have we missed? How can we move this vision forward?

Looking forward to a food system discussion on Wed!

Cheers
Ellen
