Let Melany Vorass-Herrera, author of The Front Yard Forager, introduce you to the fun and delicious world of urban foraging. After 22 years as an environmental policy analyst and technical author, Herrera now teaches foraging workshops up and down the west coast. From the yard to the parking strip, in city parks and along streets, food is abundant and free for the taking.
Books will be on sale. Herrera's field guide includes recipes for 30 of the most readily found edible weeds. From dandelion to day lily, nipplewort to nettle, pineapple weed to purslane, there’s a salad bowl full of fresh edibles just waiting to be collected and put to good use! Come and learn how to supplement your diet with these nutritious plants.
Free; no registration required. Skillshare workshops are a project of Transition Fidalgo & Friends to help grow community resilience.
