Saturday, February 25th at 10 am
at the Alger Community Hall, 18735 Parkview Lane, Map.

Grow your own medicine chest. This class is an introduction to gardening with medicinal herbs. We will cover growing, propagation, seed saving, and uses of common medicinal herbs. The focus is on the "medicine chest" herbs, the ingredients for treating conditions that are typically treated with over the counter medications.

Celt Schira wants to teach you how to take care of yourself and your loved ones using low energy, highly sophisticated, low tech folk knowledge. In Celt’s classes, she shares the self reliance skills that she has spent decades learning: traditional food preservation, gardening for food and medicine, seed saving and vegetable breeding, and using plants for personal wellness. It’s just a plus that what you make and grow tastes better and costs a lot less.

Celt Schira is a registered professional electrical engineer, tax preparer, licensed hypnotherapist, gardener, college instructor, Community Emergency Response Trainer. She spent many years living and working in other people’s countries, experience which has informed both her cooking and her gardening. Her interest in empowering individual wellness led her to study herbal medicine, first aid and hypnotherapy.
