DESIGNING YOUR OWN PARADISE:  CREATE A GREAT SPACE WITH PERMACULTURE ETHICS AND PRINCIPLES
TUESDAY, MAY 17TH, 2016
6:30 p.m. to 9 pm at Burlington City Hall, 833 S. Spruce Street, Burlington

Landscapes and gardens offer a wealth of benefits if designed and managed well.  Learn how to look at your garden as an ecosystem and explore the possibilities to make your space more sustainable.  How to build healthy soils, good design, as well as proper maintenance strategies will be covered and you will see examples of beautiful gardens for inspiration.  You will also learn what you need to know to raise livestock on your permaculture acreage - careful pre-planning begins a strong foundation for meeting your personal and financial goals.  Presenters will include best-selling author, owner and lead designer of NW Bloom Ecological Landscapes Jessi Bloom, John Schuh, Resouce Technician, Skagit Conservation District, and Charlie Boon, Skagit County Realtor.

Copies of Jessi's best-selling book, "Practical Permaculture," will be available for sell/signing ($30 cash or credit).  She will also have copies of her previous book, "Free Range Chicken Gardens," available for $20 (cash/credit).

This workshop is FREE, however, pre-registration requested by May 12th.  To register, contact Kristi Carpenter, Skagit Conservation District at (360) 428-4313 or email: kristi@skagitcd.org

This workshop is hosted by Skagit Conservation District, City of Burlington, Skagit County, and Friday Creek Habitat Stewards
